We do House Calls, on demand, to Sydneys Eastern Suburbs, We aim to deliver an expedient, compassionate Service After Hours, often when Medical Care is most needed, and most difficult to obtain. We send Registered Doctors experienced with both children & the Elderly, and will arrange Hospital transfer if required. DO YOU NEED A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE AT
The service is prompt, and depending on the clients needs, most patients will be seen, depending on their clinical needs, shortly after the call being received (assuming the call is received within the doctors’ duty hours). Private Patients are charged a Fee, but will be able to receive a portion back from Medicare. The Charge varies from $130.00 upwards, depending on what time the Patient is seen; the length of the Consultation; and whether any medication/supplies need to be administered. Bulk Billing, except after Midnight; is available for the financially disadvantaged. Doctor usually has most Medications on him, and this usually means treatment can be started immediately, often without having to leave home. Many GP.s & Medical Centres in the area have been referring House-Bound patients to the Eastern Suburbs Medical Service for 20 Years. back to top | ||||
About Us
We currently retain a Quality Assurance Officer, Dr. Jonathan Bentley (M.B. B.S. Dip R.A.C.O.G.), who not only works in the Service; but has extensive General Practice; Teaching and Divisional Experience. Several other Doctors have worked for the Service for many years. ESMS also receives Medical Staff under the Federal Government Approved Medical Deputising Service (AMDS) Program, which enables Doctors to receive a Provider Number for just this aspect of their work. A recent innovation has been the introduction of a Trained Nurse Triage Officer; who; depending on how busy the Duty Doctor is; can assist concerned Patients with general Telephone advice. With the Assistance of the Federal Government Quality Innovation Funding program (QIF Program); recent quality initiatives have been established in the Areas of enhanced IT; Workforce improvements, Commitment to ongoing Professional Development & enhanced Medical Supplies. back to top | ||||

Payment at time of call is appreciated (we accept Cash or Credit Cards; Visa, Mastercard or Bankcard) and a Receipt will be given, of which most will be refunded by Medicare. Eastern Suburbs Medical Service has been under the same Management since its inception in 1983. It is an Accredited Medical Deputising Service (M.D.S.), which is a Benchmark of its commitment to Quality Care, and was the first Medical Deputising Service in N.S.W. to undergo Accreditation. We work with many Local GP.s and Medical Centres; as well as the local Divisions of General Practice; and ESMS is a Member of the National Association of Medical Deputising Services (NAMDS); which is another QA Strategy.
